Teacher or Student?

So this June I have been taking a summer course for my technology concentration. Thankfully I have only 3 classes left! WOO-HOO! I had originally registered for 2 June classes but ended up dropping one because I was stressed that it was going to be way TOO MUCH to deal with considering I was going to Florida for 8 days. In a way I wish I would have taken two just to have them done but oh well, it makes no sense to worry over spilt milk. the point. So my class hasn't really been that hard but there is a 300 point project due at the very end. I have tried to stay on top of things and work ahead so I got my project submitted Friday and it's not even due until this coming Friday. I login to my email Saturday morning and my professor has sent me an email saying that the URL to my website is incorrect and that my videos are not on my website. I was freaking out because all of that was correct when I submitted my WORD document. So of course I send her an email and she replies a few minutes later saying that she was also confused and had sent the email to the wrong person! I was like OMG! How can you send emails like that out to the wrong person concerning a 300 point project? Seriously? I mean this is a GRADUATE is extremely important, not to mention it is just a 5 week class. Ugh, I get so irritated with some of my professors in these graduate classes. It all seems to be a huge waste of time. The only classes that I feel I learn anything in are my technology classes...the rest have been nothing but BUSY work. Professors continue to do the same thing, semester after semester. Writing a research paper is not helping me become a better teacher! Well, I have I have complained enough. I had to get that off my chest though. I am going to post a blog about our Florida trip soon...just haven't sit down at the computer without an assignment to work on in the last couple of weeks and m laptop is about to go dead as I type this! I hope everything has a great 4th of July!

Now don't get me wrong...I love where I live, but I ABSOLUTELY HATE the fact that you have to know "someone" in order to get anywhere in this town. It is so unfair! I whole-heartedly believe that if you have worked hard enough that you deserve what you want, but of course many people in this town do not follow that same philosophy. I would love to go into more detail but I feel that I should remain professional and keep my thoughts to myself at this time...maybe later I will tell more.

On a positive note...there is only 1 more day of school! Yah! And only 9 more days till we leave for Florida! I am so excited. It is going to be so nice to go to Disney and to the ocean with the girls for the first time. I will miss Brian dearly but it is a well deserved vacation indeed!

A Long Long Long TIME!

WOW! I had no idea it has been almost a year since I have logged in to update my blog. I guess that goes to show how busy I have been lately. So what have I been up to for the past year? Well, I started my masters degree program last May and I had originally planned on taking it slow but once I got started I got the graduation fever so I haven't take a break. I took three classes last summer, 1 in the fall, 1 during winter term, and I'm currently finishing up2 this week...but on the bright side I only have 4 more classes to go! YAH! It feels good to almost be finished but it it sure will be a busy next 7 months till I am finished! I can say this for sure, "I will NEVER take another class as long as I live!" Don't get me wrong, having a college degree is very important but after 13 years of grade school, 5 1/2 years to get my bachelors, then another year and a half to get my masters I am SPENT! And I mean that emotionally, physically, and financially! It wouldnt be so bad if the state helped pay for your masters considering they are the ones that require it but oh point in fussing about something that can't be fixed anytime soon!

The girls are getting so big. They will be 4 in July and boy has it been a long 4 years with so much going on. Back in March I registered them for preschool so hopefully the preschool class will receive their funding so that the girls can go. I think it will be good for them to be with other kids for a change. If all goes as planned I am going to put them in different classrooms...I think that is best and my family agrees. They recently started attending gymnastics at Total Cheer. They seem to really like it. I was amazed at how good they were the first night we went. Zoie acted up one night but since then she has been good. Not getting a popsicle like the rest of the kids really threw her for a loop! LOL.

School gets out in 15 days! We just began testing this week. The school year has flew by it seems. I am anxious for summer break because we are taking the girls to Disney World! We are going to be gone 7 nights...shew I will need a vacation from my vacation. Jon and his family are meeting us in Florida on June 17th and the girls are staying with them for several more days so really they are getting a 2 week Disney vacation. I'm worried that might be too long for them to be gone like that but it does save them from driving to and from Florida twice which makes me more comfortable with the situation. You gotta do what you gotta do... Me, Mom, Rachel, and the girls are going as well as My Aunt Lynn, Gina, her girls, Amy, and her daughter Korie so it should be quite interesting. We are staying in two seperate condos. We got a 3 bedroom, 2 bath for only $450 for 5 of the 7 nights. We are going to stop and spend the night on the way down and we are trying to add one more night to our condo stay because we changed our mind about staying another night to meet Jon and them after we had booked. Oh well though, it will all work out. I never knew how expensive a Disney vacation could cost. If you are planning to go you better start saving ASAP! The price of the park tickets are enough said...$70 something for a 3 year old! Seriously?!? The memories will be well worth the money though.

As for my relationship status, I am now in a relationship with Brian, 4 months and counting! I couldn't be happier! It was wierd how it all came about because we went out back last August and we werent interested in each other at all! He is a great guy and I hope things continue on the path that they are on right now. I will have to post pics later!

Well I think I have written enough for now, I will try to log on more often and update. It's just one of those things I forget about easily! Until next time...

I noticed that I have not been doing a very good job with my blogging. I have become some what of a slacker lately. To be honest, I don't get online much these days and when I do it is only for a brief second to check my facebook and myspace and changes my statuses. By the time I get the girls to bed and all my household duties caught up, I am normally too tired to do much of anything other than watch a little tv or go to bed. I got the girls a big girl bed a couple of weeks ago but I have not tried to get them to sleep in it yet. We did sleep in it Sunday night but it is just not as comfortable as my bed, plus I don't think I am ready for them to sleep in there by themselves. I have gotten quite use to them sleeping in my bed. I guess it is just part of the daily routine now. Maybe once school is out we might try out the new bed again, but as for now it gives Rachel a good place to sleep when she comes over to spend the night. I was getting tired of waiting to find out about the job I interviewed for last week at the hospital so I called human resources yesterday. They told me that the job was given to a CNA that already worked at the hospital...she told me she would be calling me today with an offer about the patient registration job and to finalize everything. She also asked if I would be able to start next week so I am assuming that I got that position. I am anxious for her to call me today so I can get everything in line for starting this new job. I will be so glad to have a summer job! I was beginning to stress out a bit, especially since I have not lined up a teaching job for the fall and since the child support provider got pink slipped for next year. I am trying to think positively though. I am hoping that old saying is true, "good things come to those who wait." I went and spoke with a principal about a job opening last week. He said he would start interviews around memorial day so hopefully I will get an interview! I am keeping my fingers crossed! I don't anticipate an interview for that position until the first of June if I do in fact get one. I am sure most principals do not want to deal with that stuff until closing day is over, etc. He was extremely nice and I was very glad that I took a day off work to go over and speak with him. I am hoping that gave me a few brownie points. We actually got to sit and talk for almost an hour with no interruptions! Hmmm...well let's see. I have updated you on my work status, job hunting status, whats next?
I have got some more work done at the house recently. My dad finished up my deck yesterday. He boarded in underneath my deck so that my kiddos can't escape the fence...not to mention it looks so great because now you can't see under my deck. He even built a little door so I can store things under it. He also built me a new door that goes under my house since somebody stole my metal one! How rude?!? I got two more trees planted this weekend. I got a weeping cherry tree and a white dogwood tree. I can't wait to see how they will all look in a couple of years...that is if I do not kill them before then. I am not so lucky when it comes to plants, but so far so good. I have really changed the looks of my house since I have moved in. I also got a storage building from the menonites. It is very handy. Now I have a place to store my mower which I have already managed to tear up! Go figure...but I promise it had nothing to do with the fact that I hate mowing the yard! Luckily my step dad just bought a zero turn mower so he is kind of obsessed with mowing now...he mowed my yard twice last week! So if you are in need of someone to mow your yard, let me know...he has a few yards so far but he is always looking for more. I guess that just about sums up my life lately. I will try to be a better blogger. Until next time...

So lately I have been thinking about church quite often. I go every once in awhile, but not every Sunday like I should. I really would like a new church to go too. Now, don't get me wrong...there is nothing wrong with the church I attend, its just that it is always the same repetitive thing and there is not a very large crowd of young people who attend this church. I would love a local church. I do not want to drive 30 minutes for church, especially if I find a church that has a lot of activities and things to be involved in. I would love a church that has a nursery so that I could actually pay attention during the service because my kiddos are absolutely wild during church. So, I guess I also need a church where people wont stare at me and think, "Gosh, you need to do something with those kids!" So, if anyone has any suggestions, please let me know!

I was reading Paige's blog today and she had the most awesome quote on her blog. "Maybe when the door of happiness closes, another opens, but often we look so long at the closed door that we do not see the one which has been opened for us." This quote is so true! And as bad as I hate to admit it I am guilty of looking at the closed door for way too long. Jon and I have been separated for over a year now and I still find myself looking at that closed door. Not because I want him back because I do not but because I can't forgive him. I don't want to dwell on the past but I am clueless as how to move on with the future. ...

Spring Break is Almost HERE!

Well, it is official...spring break is almost here...only 7 more hours! I am excited for spring break but then again I am kind of bummed because I dont get paid for all those days off :( Oh well though, it will be nice to do some relaxing and get some things accomplished at home. The girls are going to Jon's this weekend, so Saturday I am going to Lebanon with Aunt Lynn to buy some shrubs and trees for my yard. I am so excited to finally get some landscaping done this week. It will definitely improve the looks of the outside of my house. I also want to get a few pots to plant some flowers in and a flag to put up outside. I just hope the weather is better next week. It will stink if it rains all week! We also have two birthday parties to attend this coming week which is exciting. I need to go buy some gifts sometime this weekend...probably when I make a trip to the grocery store. Well, I need to get back to work. Until next time...

My Weekly Blog...

I dont know what it is about Wednesday but apparently this is the only day of the week I give this blog any thought these days! So here is what has been going on with me this past week...

Nothing interested happened last week...just the same old and spending time with the kiddos. This past weekend was really fun. Friday, Jessica and I met up with Kirby for dinner at Logan's, then we ended up at Kirby's apartment for some cards and just goofing off and acting crazy. Jessica and I didnt end back up in Scottsville till nearly 4 in the morning! It was a lot of fun. Saturday I enjoyed sleeping in and then I did some housework. Saturday night Jessica and I took a quick trip to Glasgow. I had to get some storage cubes for the new shelves I got for Emma and Zoie's toy room. I also picked up a few things at Walmart then we decided to eat cheap and headed to Long John Silver's (which is one of my all time favorites! I miss the one we use to have in town!) where we used one of my fabulous buy one get one free coupons, you just cant beat a deal like that! HAHA. I have been trying to get some use out of the coupon book my grandpa bought for a has really been coming in handy lately. After our trip to Glasgow we stopped by a friends house, and hung out for awhile, then we went back to my house and gossiped, etc. until the early hours of the morning again. Sunday I was very lazy...then the girlies finally came home! I started another long work week on Monday...and unfortunately Zoie woke up sick yesterday morning. I took her up to Linda's and she tested negative for strep. They said it could be too early to actually test positive since she just woke up with the symptoms so they gave her an antibiotic because she had all the other symptoms. Last night she was also sick with diarhea and she vomitted a few times yesterday also. She had a fever this morning but seemed to be doing a little better. I decided to go on in to work because my grandma said she would be fine keeping her even though she was sick. I am hoping she is eating better today and drinking more fluids. As long as she will drink the pedialite she will be okay and not get dehydrated. I just hope Emma doesnt come down with it but I am sure she will. My sister went home sick with a stomach ache and headache this morning so its definitely going around because she stayed the night with us Sunday and Monday. I will just keep my fingers crossed and hope Emma and I get lucky and do not get it. I guess I have been lucky though because this is only the second time Zoie has been sick enough to get an antibiotic since she was born. Well I need to get back to these silly third graders. Until next time...
